My name is Cody Jones, founder of Route 91 Nation. I was a 19-year old student from Southern Nevada at the time of the shooting. Due to the effects of the Las Vegas shooting which took place on October 1, 2017, I lost my main scholarship that was worth $10,000 because I was not able to stay focused on any of my studies. This nonprofit was started with the intent of helping other students in the community by creating and offering scholarships, educating the community about mass trauma, and helping the community obtain access to other helpful organizations. My hope is to help create a better community for the future.
Route 91 Nation focuses on college scholarships. We want to help the community to have better access to both licensed therapists and therapy groups which specialize in PTSD and Trauma, and that accept Victims of Crime.
Though helping other survivors of mass casualty events is important, we recognize that part of moving forward is giving back. Our communities will only become more safe, caring environments if we use what we have learned to help others.
Therefore, our central focus is more toward our community at large instead of the community of Route 91

Therefore, our central focus is more toward our community at large instead of the community of Route 91 survivors. Yes, we want to help survivors, but we want to build our community while doing so.
